After the success of last summer's single "Le Soleil Descend" Haitian superstar Wesli returns with a totally unique new sound that blends deep Haitian vodoun chants and rara carnival drums with electronic music and intense, Afrobeats grooves.

Featuring pioneering African DJ/Producer AfrotroniX, "Bontan Iyalélé" is part of Wesli's upcoming multi album release Tradisyon 1 and Tradisyon 2, which sees this multi-talented artist exploring authentic and modern approaches to Haitian roots music.

"Bontan Iyalélé" is a traditional song adapted from a composition by Wesli and AfrotroniX. It is a mixture of the Haitian yanvalou rhythm and contemporary African music composed and performed by the two artists.

Says Wesli, "I made this song to give courage to the Haitians who had to leave Haiti nowadays to seek refuge in the Dominican Republic because of the insecure situation in the country. "Bontan Iyalélé" tells about good times and bad times. No matter what I continue. It is a message of resilience."

Wesli sings, “I have experienced disasters and survived, and in the good old days, Haiti was the pearl of the West Indies. Now I ask for understanding from my neighbor, remember all this symbolizes resilience, that we still exist. We must remember who we are and where we come from and remain strong and alive; one day, the world will need us.”

AfrotroniX is a Montreal-based producer from Chad in central Africa who blends dubstep and deep house with African rhythms to create a fresh, global sound.
